Class 1 - 09:30 - International Indoor - Connolly's RED MILLS Senior Newcomers - First Round

Entry qualifications: to be ridden by Adult, Associate or Junior Members.

(a) For registered horses in Grade C that have not won a total of 375 points. Four double clears will qualify - in accordance with rule 312.6

(b) For all horses born on or after 1st January 2012, irrespective of Points. Horses will only be eligible for double clear qualification to Second Rounds if they reach the age of six years or under in the same calendar year as the Newcomers Final - in accordance with Rule 312.6.

Qualifies for: Connolly’s RED MILLS Senior Newcomers Second Round.

Qualifying period 1st June - 31st May inclusive.

Numbers to qualify: Those horses which jump a clear round in the First Round, followed by a clear round in the jump-off, in at least four Connolly’s RED MILLS Senior Newcomers First Round competitions in any qualifying period, will qualify to compete in a Connolly’s RED MILLS Senior Newcomers Second Round, irrespective of their placings for prize money in those competitions, which will be determined by the normal Table A Rules (Rule 191). To obtain a double clear qualification, even if the horse is the only clear round, it must jump a jump-off round and jump clear to gain a double clear round.

If combined with an open: In the event of 30 or more starters the class will be split with two sets of prize money.

Numbers to qualify: The first 6 horse/rider combinations, disregarding the ones already qualified. In instances where riders qualify multiple rides Rules 290.17 and 77.6 apply.

Rule 290.15 - Pre-Entry Drawn Order

Pre-entries may possibly be accepted before 9.00am providing that the number of entries are less than 60 (with the exception of County shows). Once entries reach 60 before 9.00am the class will be closed. Any entries taken on the day must compete first in the drawn order.

British Showjumping Boots / Leg Protection Ruling

  • The total maximum weight of equipment allowed to be added to a horse’s leg; front or hind (single or multiple boots, fetlock rings etc), is 500g.
  • All hind leg protections must have a maximum interior length of 16cm and a minimum exterior width of 5cm.
  • The inside protection must be smooth and the fixations must be made of non-elastic Velcro type fasteners with no hooks or straps permitted.
  • The rounded rigid part of the protection must be placed around the inside of the fetlock. No additional elements may be used in conjunction with the protection.

Failure to comply will incur disqualification.

Foxhunter section:

(a) For registered horses in Grade C that have not won a total of 700 points. Four double clears will qualify - in accordance with rule 310.6

(b) For all registered horses born on or after 1 January 2011 irrespective of points. Horses will be eligible for double clear qualification to attend second rounds providing they reach the age of seven years or under in the same calendar year as the Foxhunter Final - in accordance with rule 310.6 Four double clears will qualify.

Four double clears will qualify for the Senior Foxhunter Second Rounds. Qualifying period: 1st June-31st May inclusive.

Those horses that have qualified for the Senior Foxhunter Championship in 2017 are not eligible for qualification to the 2018 Championship.

Grade C section:

For registered horses in Grade C ridden by Adult, Associate or Junior Members.

Qualifying period: There will be 12 qualifying competitions. Qualifiers to be held at the Winter Premier Shows, Development Classic Shows, plus two additional venues.

This is a handicap class, the Grade B start height is 1.30m and the Grade C start height is 1.25m.

The first 8 horses qualify for the final, held at the Blue Chip Winter Championships. Qualification does not pass down the line. Qualifiers must jump a clear in the first round. There will be dual qualification of double clears for the National B&C Handicap Championship.

For registered horses in grade C which have not won a total of 700 points,(unless Age Rule applies), to be ridden by Adult, Associate or Junior Members.

The first 8 horses qualify for the final, held at the Blue Chip Winter Championships. Qualification does not pass down the line. Qualifiers must jump clear in the first round. There will be dual qualification of double clears for the Equitop Myoplast Senior Foxhunter first round. (Age rule applies)

Please note that in accordance with the amendment to BS Rule 310 all 7yr old horses are now eligible regardless of points won, but the horse must be 7yrs old in the year of the Final ie 2018 to be able to compete in the Championship. Therefore any horses which are currently 7yrs old and have won more than 700 points are unable to qualify in any qualifiers held from 1st October 2017 to 31st December 2017. Qualification does not pass down the line.

Qualifies for: Winter 7 Year Old Final at the Spring Championship Show.

Numbers to qualify: The first 6 horse/rider combinations, disregarding the ones already qualified. In instances where riders qualify multiple rides Rules 290.17 and 77.6 apply.

Rule 290.15 - Pre-Entry Drawn Order

Pre-entries may possibly be accepted before 9.00am providing that the number of entries are less than 60 (with the exception of County shows). Once entries reach 60 before 9.00am the class will be closed. Any entries taken on the day must compete first in the drawn order.

British Showjumping Boots / Leg Protection Ruling

  • The total maximum weight of equipment allowed to be added to a horse’s leg; front or hind (single or multiple boots, fetlock rings etc), is 500g.
  • All hind leg protections must have a maximum interior length of 16cm and a minimum exterior width of 5cm.
  • The inside protection must be smooth and the fixations must be made of non-elastic Velcro type fasteners with no hooks or straps permitted.
  • The rounded rigid part of the protection must be placed around the inside of the fetlock. No additional elements may be used in conjunction with the protection.

Failure to comply will incur disqualification.

For registered horses in Grade C to be ridden by Adult, Associate or Junior Members.

Qualifies for: Winter Grade C Final at the Spring Championship Show.

Qualifying period: There will be 12 qualifying competitions. Qualifiers to be held at the Winter Premier Shows, Development Classic Shows, plus two additional venues.

Numbers to qualify: Four to qualify, disregarding those already qualified, and horses ridden by riders who have already qualified two horses. Riders may only ride two horses in the Final.

Horses which are disregarded which otherwise would have qualified may be substituted in the Final for horses already qualified by the same rider, subject to Rule 79.4.

Qualifies for: Two double clears will qualify for the National 1.40m Championship at the British Showjumping National Championships.
